Kristen O’Reilly channels her lifelong passion for observing human expression through the art of costume design. From re-imagining familiar icons for episodic television (Holly Hobbie, 2018) to introducing new characters in a feature film (Manhattan Undying, 2016) Kristen carefully selects costumes that communicate who a character is and helps tell the story aesthetically.
Kristen has been designing costumes since she could hold a pencil, but made it official when she graduated with honours from York University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre for Costume Design in 2003. She started designing in independent theatre productions before she transitioned into the film and television industry in 2004. Kristen has experience working in various roles within the costume department giving her a well-versed understanding of creating successful costumes from stitch to set to screen.
