This piece is the perfect little DIY evening project. It’s easy to create even if you aren’t very crafty. Just loop some giant paper clips on to each other sculpturally, tie a ribbon to the ends and add a small embellishments for idiosyncratic style.

You may even want to try painting the paper clips in a vibrant color or using a bright ribbon for an accessory you can use to transition your winter basics into spring.

You did a great job on this! I wonder how much the original cost haha – definitely not less than a few mega-paperclips ;)

so cool! I really need to find some giant clips!

I used to clip colorful paperclips into art for my bedroom wall (as a teenager). :-)

I saw this style somewhere and I though it’s really creative. Painting them with color would show more personality.

Love It!. I did DYI like this but with safety pins. This is fab!

That’s a great piece Kristen. Can you please share how you made it and where you found the giant paper clips?

Kristen says:

Giant paper clips are only a couple dollars for a pack of ten at Staples. Literally just played around with layering and attaching them onto themselves – clipping them to each other like key rings. It is that simple!

Emma says:

This is a really great necklace… I love how EASY and ACCESSIBLE you just made a designer item.
